New UPSC Syllabus 2013

UPSC Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) 2013 Syllabus Pattern

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has made certain changes in its syllabus as well as pattern for the civil service preliminary examination that will be held in 2011.

The candidates who are interested to appear for the UPSC exam will have to appear for two separate examinations (mandatory), each comprising of 200 marks.

Paper 1 will include -
1. Current affairs of national as well as international importance.
2. History of India and Indian National Movement.
3. Indian as well as World Geography.
4. Economic Geography of India and world.
5. Political System- Constitution, Indian polity and governance.
6. Economic and social development
7. Sustainable development.

Paper 2 includes –
1. General Mental Ability.
2. Interpersonal Skills.
3. Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability.
4. General Science.
5. Basic Numeracy.
6. Decision making and problem solving.
7. Data interpretation.
8. English language and comprehensive skills.
